Senninger Irrigation Receives Two 2007 ASABE Awards for Outstanding Innovations in Product or Systems Technology
ASABE, the Society for Engineering in Agricultural, Food, and Biological Systems recently announced that Senninger Irrigation Inc. has won two AE50 awards. Senninger is a manufacturer of irrigation equipment since 1963 and is headquartered in Clermont, Florida.
Senninger Irrigation developed the Xi-Wob® and Smooth Drive™ , each deemed one of the year’s most innovative designs in engineering products or systems for the food and agriculture industries. Both products are featured in the June 2007 special AE50 issue of ASABE’s magazine Resource: Engineering & Technology for a Sustainable World.
A Senninger spokesperson said, “We are so pleased and honored to receive awards on these two new products. The Xi-Wob is an applicator for center pivots with outstanding uniformity over a large area at low pressures, making it ideal of lowering application intensity preserving soil structure and promoting energy conservation. The Smooth Drive is an applicator for solid set installations with a unique ‘walking diffuser’ that produces outstanding uniformity over a large distribution area.”
Companies from around the world submit entries to the annual AE50 competition and 50 of the best products are chosen by a panel of international engineering experts. The judges select products that will best advance engineering for the food and agriculture industries.
The AE50 award program is sponsored by Resource to emphasize the role of new products and systems in bringing advanced technology to the marketplace. These engineering developments help farmers, food processors and equipment manufacturers cut costs, enhance quality and increase profits.
Resource, a technical magazine geared to agricultural, biological and food system engineers worldwide, is produced at ASABE headquarters in St. Joseph, Michigan. The publication is read by thousands of professionals and others involved in the agricultural, food and biological industries.
